She grew up in Westport, CT, grateful for its well-developed arts community. Mia enjoyed four rigorous years at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, earning her BFA in Musical Theatre.

During her time in Cincinnati, she received Cincinnati Acclaim Awards for her performances as Trina in Falsettos and Missy in the regional premiere of The Marvelous Wonderettes. She was also honored by CCM with the Laurie Beechman Award for Vocal Performance and by the League of Cincinnati Theaters with a 2011 Rising Star Award.
