"As directors we always come up against a bit of catch 22 where people haven't seen our work in order to know what we're all about, but they don't feel comfortable giving us opportunities to showcase our work because they haven't seen our work in order to know what we're all about...you see where this is going. So, here's my attempt to counter that. Also, you don't have to see my work to engage in an interpretive conversation about it. If you want to get to know me and what my work is all about, keep reading.

I absolutely love working with writers on new work. Developing stories and characters with a collaborator is some of the most fun hard work can be. I love telling all kinds of stories - the haunting and surreal to classic musicals to fresh new ideas. What is the most thrilling to me is the challenge of how to make a show relevant and exciting to an audience. A show that leaves them seeing something they didn't before; questioning something they accepted as reality, or smiling and feeling good about life."
